I am grateful to the people of San Luis del Carmen who open the doors of their homes as well as their hearts to Miguel Ángel and me.
As every year, during Holy Week, the Carmelites in El Salvador carry out small group encounters with the people, in different areas of our country. During Holy Week 2018, I shared my experience in a small community called Los Naranjos, in the department of Chalatenango.
To further strengthen the St. Elias Project farming activities we are hoping to do the following: purchase coffee, avocado, squash, and papaya plants; construct an adult education center, a chapel, and an housing for the farm caretaker; provide jobs for the local community.
The love of God was manifest in these poor people who are stripped of the little that they have in order to share it with those who announce the Word of God.
Following Mass, our Centro Xiberta neighbors are invited to a simple breakfast of a sandwich and something to drink.
